Five suspected Avengers arrested


THE Nigerian Navy on Tuesday paraded five suspected members of the Niger Delta Avengers alleged to have been responsible for last Saturday’s multiple attacks on pipelines belonging to the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation in Warri South West Local Government Area of Delta State.

Institute develops ‘tomato ebola’ vaccine


The National Research Institute for Chemical Technology, Zaria, today said it had developed a vaccine forTuta Absoluta, popularly known as ‘tomato ebola’.

The Public Relations Officer of the institute, Alhaji Bala Aliyu, told the News Agency of Nigeria in Zaria, Kaduna State that an end had come to the disease, which had been ravaging tomato farms.

Navy arrests three pipeline vandals


The Nigerian Navy has arrested three suspects for pipeline vandalism and related maritime crimes.

The Director of Information of the Navy, Commodore Christian Ezekobe, said in a statement on Wednesday that the three suspects would be handed over to the prosecuting agencies after preliminary investigation.

Abuja landlord accuses tenant of abducting 16- year-old daughter


A landlord, Alex Osuji, has accused his tenant, Cornelius Ubara, of abducting his daughter, Precious, in the Kapwa, Federal Housing Estate, Lugbe, Abuja.

Alex said that he left 16-year-old Precious at home for a banking transaction on November 13, 2015 – the day of the incident.

A suspect, Zainab Salisu, who allegedly disguised as a customer to abduct a one-year-old girl, Fehintola Lawal, in the Abule Egba area of Lagos State says she named the girl, Taiwo, and another abducted boy, Kehinde (twins).
