Police arrest Nasarawa monarch for robbery



A 50-year-old district head of Dagachi Bukan-Sidi, Lafia, Mohammed Agabi, has been arrested by the Nasarawa State Police Command for his alleged involvement in a robbery activity in the state.

34 oil thieves convicted

Court jails man 108 years for assaults on children


A court in Turkey has sentenced a Turkish man to 108 years in jail for sexually assaulting at least eight Syrian children at a flagship refugee camp, reports said on Saturday.

The 29-year-old man, identified only as Erdal E., worked as a cleaner at the tented refugee camp in Nizip in the southern Gaziantep province near the Syrian border.

Enugu motorists lament as faulty traffic lights cause accidents

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps on Sunday in Maiduguri, Borno State, alerted residents to the menace of kerosene mixed with petrol, which was in circulation in the state.

The Borno State NSCDC Commandant, Mr. Ibrahim Abdullahi, who spoke in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria, said some residents alerted the command to the circulation of the adulterated commodity.

Senate proposes life jail for fake drugs dealers


The Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki, hinted on Friday that the upper chamber would soon come up with a bill that would prescribe life imprisonment for individuals who engage in the production and sale of counterfeit and fake drugs and foods.
