Woman lavishes N.4m on Xmas gifts for dogs, less on boyfriend




A woman has admitted spending £1,250 on presents for her dogs this Christmas — more than her own boyfriend.

According to The Mirror, Vikki Jose, 26, spoils her ‘furry babies’, four-year-old Labrador, Harvey; and two-year-old Bichon Frise, Lola, during the festive season.

60-year-old blind man arraigned in Niger


A Minna Chief Magistrate Court has arraigned a 60-year-old blind man, Idris Usman, who allegedly had canal knowledge of two teenagers near the PZ area in Minna.

The two victims simply identified as Mustapha, 10, and Zangina, 12, in separate interviews confirmed the incident, saying the blind man used to invite them for sexual intercourse.

Police arrest 10 suspected animal thieves


Chukwu said the suspects who have been responsible for the loss of sheep and goats in the city and terrorising residents, were apprehended on Sept. 3 on a tip-off.

He said the recovered animals comprised 61 sheep and two goats and were valued at N 5.7 million, adding that the suspects confessed to stealing the animals.


He said the police also arrested a suspect over allegation of criminal trespass, and explained that the man was believed to be going into homes of people and stealing various items.

Kano girl without limbs dies at 19






The Kano State born girl without a limb has died at the age of 19 years after a brief illness.

Rahma Haruna reportedly died at her Lahadin Makole’s home, Warawa Local Government Area of Kano State on Christmas day and had since been buried according to religious rites.

Cattle rustlers kill herdsman, push corpse into lagoon




Gunmen suspected to be cattle rustlers have gruesomely murdered a Fulani herdsman while resisting attempt to steal two of his cows around Emu-Ebendo community, Ndokwa West Local Government Area of Delta state.

The incident which occurred on Friday last week reportedly sparked apprehension between herdsmen and residents of the area following the discovery of the corpse pegged to a wood in a shallow river to prevent it from floating until it had discomposed.

India police arrest four over US woman’s gang-rape


Indian police on Monday arrested four men accused of drugging and raping an American tourist at a five-star hotel in New Delhi earlier this year, an officer said.

The woman told police that she was part of a tour group visiting India in April when her local guide gave her a spiked bottle of water and raped her with four acquaintances inside her hotel room.

23-year-old applicant bags three years over generator theft


An Ikeja Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday sentenced a 23-year-old unemployed, Fatai Obadeyi, to three years imprisonment for stealing generator valued at N60,000.

Chief Magistrate M.O. Osinbajo sentenced Obadeyi after he pleaded guilty to the charge.
