The Enugu State Police Command on Sunday said it had nabbed two undergraduates for the murder of one Stella Uhuo.
The News Agency of Nigeria reports that the command’s Public Relations Officer, Mr. Ebere Amaraizu, said this in a statement in Enugu.
He said the suspects (names withheld) were arrested in Ebonyi and Kogi states by the police.
According to him, the duo murdered Uhuo, who returned from a vacation in the United States of America, after dispossessing her of her belongings.
He said, “On that day, November 14, 2015, the deceased, Mrs. Stella Ohuo, contacted one of the suspects to meet her at the Enugu Airport.
“She requested the suspect to assist her convey some luggage to Abakiliki.
‘‘The suspect came to the airport with his friend in a Volvo car.
“The personal luggage of the deceased was put in the car brought by family members, while the ones to be taken to Abakiliki were loaded into the boot of the Volvo car.
‘‘Along the way, the suspect and his friend diverted the car, dispossessed the victim of her belongings and beat her to death when she resisted.
‘‘They dumped her corpse at a dump along the Enugu-Abakiliki Expressway, and left with the luggage.”
