Hoodlums attack fuel attendants, steal N700,000


Hoodlums wielding dangerous weapons, yesterday attacked fuel attendants in Kioyer Filling Station along Ogbemudia road in Oleh community Isoko South local Government area of Delta State and allegedly stole N700,000.

At gun point, the hoodlums ordered their victims to lie on the ground and face it till their operation was over.

Eye witness, Stella Erijoh said the fuel attendants were ordered to produce the sale they have made including the previous day’s money they left with.

It was gathered that one of the victims allegedly waved off the gun ported at her, thinking it was a toy, thereby causing an accidental discharge of stray bullet that hit a woman who was few steps away from the robbery scene.

Police sources in the area who did not want their names in the print said the armed hoodlums came in in Highlander Jeep with no registration number and after robbing the fuel attendants zoomed off to an unknown destination.

Police image makers in the State, Mrs. Celestina Kalu said the police were on the trail of the hoodlums, adding that no arrest has been made yet.

As at the time of filing this report, palpable tension and fear of the unknown rented the community.
