A man is standing trial before Chief Magistrate B. O. Osunsanmi of an Ikeja Chief Magistrates’ Court in Lagos State for alleged sexual assault of his 12-year-old niece.
The accused, Samson Akinse, an unemployed man, who lives in Ajegunle, a suburb of Lagos, is being tried for alleged rape and incest.
The prosecutor, Insp. Simeon Inuoha, told the court that the offence was committed on October 28, at the accused residence.
Inuoha said that the accused raped this victim who happened to be his niece.
“The victim told her mother and the accused was apprehended,’’ he said.
The offence contravened section 259 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.
Osunsanmi granted the accused to a bail of N300,000 with two sureties in like sum.
She adjourned the case for mention.
