Passenger kills okada rider, steals motorcycle in Ondo

A man identified as Kayode Agboola is currently in police custody following his arrest for allegedly killing a commercial motorcycle (okada) rider, Akinola Emmanuel in Ajowa Akoko, Akoko North-West Local Government Area of Ondo State.

It was gathered that the suspect who is a plumber in Ikaramu Akoko, hired the service of the deceased to take him to a nearby village. But on getting to a bush path, the passenger allegedly killed Akinola and dumped his body into the bush before taking the motorcycle away.

A source also disclosed that the suspect was arrested by the men of the Ekiti State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps in Ado Ekiti, the Ekiti State capital, where he confessed to have stolen the motorcycle.

Ajowa Ekiti indigenes are asking the police and government to bring the alleged killer to book, alleging that some powerful people were attempting to sweep the matter under the carpet.

A man from Ajowa Akoko, identified as Michael who refused to disclosed his other names said,” He (suspect) must not be spared. This notorious murderer, who terminated the promising life of Akinola should be brought to book by the power of the law of the land.

“He (suspect) is now in the custody of the police. The world is waiting for the police not to be besmeared by injustice, the power of money and influence.

When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer of the Ondo State Command, Mr. Femi Joseph, confirmed the incident but said the case was yet to be transferred from Ekiti State Command of the NSCDC to Ondo Police Command.
