An Ogudu Magistrates’ Court in Lagos on Wednesday sentenced a butcher, Jibril Jimoh, to three months imprisonment without an option of fine for stabbing his colleague with a knife on the chest and left arm.

The sentence followed a guilty plea by the accused.

The Magistrate, Mrs O. Sule Amzat, said the court had no option than to sentence the accused since he had pleaded guilty.

She said the prosecutor had informed the court that Jibril had earlier stabbed the same colleague, Folawole Seyi, and was “forgiven his sins”.

The convict, Jibril Jimoh, 28, who operates at Ketu Market, Mile 12 in Lagos, was arraigned for causing grievous harm.

Earlier, the prosecutor, Sgt. Lucky Ihiehie, told the court that Jimoh committed the offence on April 14 at FO Filling Station at Under Bridge, Mile 12.

Ihiehe said the complainant, Seyi, reported the case at Mile 12 Police Post in company of some witnesses.
