An official of the West African Examination Council (WAEC), Mustapha Ikhina, was Wednesday found dead in a hotel at Agidingbi, Lagos Mainland.
The victim was said to have slumped at the bathroom of Academy Inns Hotel, where he lodged.
The deceased was a 59-year-old man who was in Lagos for his pre-retirement training.
The police were said to have been notified and his body evacuated for autopsy.
Meanwhile, a tricyclist, Chidiebere Okafor was arrested for alleged murder of his colleague, Frank Onah at Ifako.
The incident occurred at Yetunde Brown Street, Gbagada around 2:30pm.
The suspect pushed Onah while they were dragging a piece of paper.
Onah was said to have hit his head against a stone and died at the General Hospital where he was rushed to.
Confirming the incidents, the command’s spokesman, Chike Oti, a Superintendent of Police (SP) said investigations were ongoing.
He said no mark of violence was seen on the WAEC employee, adding that there was no one with him in his room.
Oti said: “The man was due for retirement next year and he was in Lagos for pre-retirement training. Apparently he fell and there was no one to assist him. He was found dead inside his room.
“For the second case, the suspect has been arrested and investigation is ongoing. They were arguing and it later turned physical.”
