TV anchor Amanda Davis has passed away at the age of 62.
The Emmy award-winning journalist suffered a fatal stroke on her way to her stepfather’s funeral yesterday on Wednesday, December 27.
Davis was waiting to board her flight to Texas when she suffered the sudden stroke, with medics unable to save her.
She had worked at Fox5 Atlanta for 26 years, retiring in 2013. She returned to work at CBS46 in January of this year.
Just last week, Davis thanked a friend who had sent her flowers following her stepfather’s passing, writing on Twitter: “Thanks to my GF Debbie Turman for the lovely flowers as I grieve over the loss of my pops. “His funeral is the 27th.”
She also posted about “staying strong” over the Christmas period following the loss of her beloved parent.
Davis passed away in hospital at 9.30pm local time, surrounded by family.
