German authorities have arrested a 17-year-old boy in relation to the fatal stabbing of a 15-year-old girl in the Western German town of Viersen, Police said on Tuesday.
Police said that the boy had turned himself in at a police station alongside his lawyer.
The girl was subjected to a stabbing attack in a park around midday on Monday by a man who subsequently fled the scene, police said in a statement.
She died later in hospital.
The lethal attack comes just days after another teenage girl, 14-year-old Susanna F, was killed by an Iraqi refugee who then fled to his home region of Iraqi Kurdistan.
The man, named only as Ali B in compliance with privacy laws, was returned to Germany on Saturday.
