A 19-year-old man has gone into hiding after he had sex with an orphaned 8-year-old girl on Tuesday at 2 pm in Rianchage village, Nyamache in Kisii County.
Confirming the incident, area local administrator, Jared Ombati, said the suspect, Julius Ombogo, fled after committing the incident.
“Ombogo lured the minor to his house with Sh20 to buy biscuit and defiled her but warned her against revealing to anyone. Her private parts were damaged,” he said.
He said the suspect’s mother, Margaret, who returned home from the market found the minor sleeping and when she asked her to go to the fetch water from the spring she noticed that she was unable to walk and reported the matter to Nyumba Kumi officials who alerted him (chief).
“Upon questioning by her aunt, the minor disclosed that Ombati gave her Sh20 before he dragged her into his bedroom where he defiled her several times,” he said
He said the minor was rushed to Nyamache sub-county hospital where she tested positive to have been raped and she is currently being treated at the facility.
