The mother of a Kenyan man, who allegedly mutilated his wife’s genitals has been stoned to death by a mob, who suspected she was hiding her son.
Residents of Jerusalem village in Kirinyaga County, where the family lived stoned the older woman to death, reports Citizen TV Kenya.
However, police, has arrested the suspect at Ngurubani Town and he is currently being held at Wang’uru Police Station.
Meanwhile, his wife, Monica Mumbi is still recuperating at Kimbimbi Sub-County Hospital in Kirinyaga County.
Doctors at the hospital said the 29-year-old woman was in critical condition when she was brought in but is out of danger.
“Her private parts were bleeding and she had already lost a lot of blood,” Dr. Allan Kuyu said.
Neigbours say the suspect used a knife to mutilate his wife’s genitals in the middle of the night.
