Court admits gay suspects to N200, 000 bail in Edo

An Oredo Magistrates’ Court in Benin City, Edo State, has admitted two gay suspects, Paul Frank, 31 and Ejimofor Christian, 22, to N100,000 bail each.

How death killed the trading dream of Kano’s limbless girl

Rahama Haruna, 20, who died in Kano on Christmas Day after a brief illness, lived a life that impacted positively on people. She used her inability as a tool of strength. No wonder Kano was thrown into mourning when the news of her death spread like a wild fire last Sunday. When she was born 20 years ago in the tiny community of Ungwan Sarki, Lahadin Makole village in Warawa Local Government Area, she came into the world as a complete and normal human being, but six months after her birth, Rahama was attacked by a strange illness that defied all medical solution. Her legs crippled, just as her two hands got deformed. She lived her entire life inside a bowl which aided her mobility.
Two held for barber’s death
The police have arrested two men, Saheed Araba and Femi Omolajau, for the death of a barber, Ademola Olarape, in Ijede area of Ikorodu, Lagos.
The police said Olarape, 24, was shot dead in his shop opposite Ijede Palace, around 4pm by unknown gunmen.

Five killed as suspected herdsmen attack Delta communities
Five farmers have been feared killed in Abraka and Obiaruku communities in Ethiope East and Ukwuani local governments of Delta State, during clashes between farmers and suspected herdsmen.

25 items banned from being imported into Nigeria (FULL LIST)

There are at least 25 items that have been banned from being imported into Nigeria. The list, circulated by the Finance Ministry on Friday, includes soaps, spaghetti and used fridges.
The ban on the items was put in place by the government in 2016, as part of yearly efforts to control import, but is still in place as no new one has been provided for 2017, Festus Akanbi, spokesperson to the finance minister told PREMIUM TIMES.
