An octogenarian mother of a serving Assistant Commissioner of Police in Lagos State, Mrs. Rebecca Igbe, was Monday evening abducted in Omuse community, Elele Alimini in Emohua Local Government Area of Rivers State.
The 80 year old woman, according to a source in the area, was kidnapped for the second time by unknown gunmen after heavy gunfire.
The mother of ACP. Batram Igbe, according to a resident, Mr. Chris Obinuchi-Okha, who confirmed the incident, alleged that over four men fully armed stormed the aged woman’s shop in front of her house and shot sporadically into the air before taking her away.
Obinuchi-Okha said: “The development is painful. We don’t know what these gunmen are looking for in this innocent old woman.
“This is the second time she has been abducted by unknown gunmen this year. This time they came to her shop around 9pm and took her even when she was crying for help.”
