Determined to have a crime-free Yuletide, the Delta State Police Command has arrested a suspected armed robber, Mr. Lucky Nwadi of Onicha-Ugbo, Aniocha Local North Council of the state
.

The Command’s Spokesperson, Celestina Kalu, who disclosed this in Asaba yesterday, said that on Tuesday, December 22, 2015, operatives from the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) in Asaba while acting on a tip-off arrested the suspect at Otulu in Aniocha Local Council.

Kalu said that items recovered from Nwadi included one locally-made pistol, one expended/one live cartridge and one unregistered Skygo motorcycle.

Also on Christmas eve, an anti-robbery patrol team from ‘A’ Division along Ginuwa Road by Okere junction sighted a tricycle with four occupants but that the rider of the tricycle immediately zoomed off in a suspicious manner.

According to her, the patrol team gave the hoodlums a hot chase, forcing the criminals to abandon the tricycle and escaped.

She said that items recovered from the fleeing bandit included the ill-fated tricycle, a black school bag containing two locally-made cut-to-size guns and three live cartridges.

Kalu, a Deputy Superintendent of Police, said that efforts to track down the fleeing miscreants have been intensified, adding that investigations in both cases are still on.
