The Ondo State Police Command has arrested two siblings who allegedly buried alive two persons – Igbekele Orisabinole and Ogbaro Erinbo.
The victims were accused of stealing N130,000 belonging to the suspects’ mother, Mrs. Ogunnuga.
The suspects – Omoniyi Alaleran and Oluwaseun Enikuomehin– according to the Police Public Relations Officer of the state command, Mr. Femi Joseph, committed the offence on Omonira Street, Igbokoda, in the Ilaje Local Government Area on March 12, 2016.
It was gathered that Ogunnuga lost a sum of N130,000 and accused Erinbo and Orisabunole of stealing the money. She informed her two children, who tortured the duo to release the missing money.
The duo reportedly denied commiting the crime, which was not accepted by their accusers.
After many hours of torture, the suspects allegedly took the victims inside a bush, dug a pit and pushed them inside it and covered the pit up to their necks.
The PPRO explained that the matter was being handled by the Special Investigative Bureau.
“We are almost concluding investigation into the matter. The suspects will be charged to court very soon,” the PPRO said.
