A prankster escaped death recently when he mistakenly ‘cemented’ his head inside a microwave, odditycentral.com has reported.
The man, a resident of Wolverhampton in the United Kingdom, was trying to make a mould of his head in the bizarre stunt when the Pollyfilla mixture dried faster than expected, getting his head stuck in the microwave. After enduring the agony for close to two hours, he was eventually rescued by firefighters.
According to reports, firefighters found the man with the microwave still firmly stuck on his head in the garage of the house where he lived. Efforts to rescue him proved abortive at first. In the end, they had to call colleagues from Technical Rescue for support.
One of the officials, who responded to the incident, said: “As funny as this sound, the young man could quite easily have suffocated or have been seriously injured.
“He and a group of friends had mixed seven bags of Polyfilla which they then poured around his head, which was protected by a plastic bag inside the microwave. The oven was being used as a mould, and wasn’t plugged in but the mixture quickly set hard. By the time we were called, they’d already been trying to free him for an hour and a half.
“Taking the microwave apart was tricky, because a lot of it was welded. It took us nearly an hour to free him. All of the people involved were very apologetic.”
