A 35-year-old carpenter, Monday Ebiwunmi, was on Thursday arraigned in an Okitipupa Magistrates’ Court, Ondo State, for allegedly beating-up his customer.
Ebiwunmi, whose address was not provided, is facing two counts of conspiracy and assault, offences he denied committing.
The prosecutor, Sergeant Ayodeji Omoyeigha, told the court that the defendant committed the offences on June 17, at Igbodigo in Okitipupa.
Omoyeigha said that the defendant beat-up the complainant, Mr Gbade Abiola, with a big stick over an argument, for the defendant’s failure to complete a wardrobe he asked him to construct.
“The stick inflicted various degrees of injuries on the complainant,’’ he said.
He said that the offences contravened Sections 355 and 517 of the Criminal Law of Ondo State, 2006.
The Magistrate, Mr Chris Ojuola, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N30, 000 and a surety in like sum.
