Man beats lover in public for faking pregnancy - Shepherd Digest Magazine

There was drama in Awasi, Kisumu County after a man beat up his long time lover who allegedly faked a pregnancy.

According to witnesses, trouble started when Florence Achieng, arrived at her lover’s M-Pesa shop and demanded money to buy fruits on claims that the unborn wanted to eat fruits. 

“Ms Achieng came to Edward Otieno’s M-Pesa shop and asked for Sh200 to buy fruits claiming she was pregnant. Otieno took her to a local clinic where the lady was tested for pregnancy and tested negative,” said Judy Omondi, a witness.

According to Judy, the man was angered by his lover’s fake pregnancy, and started beating her up in public after he had paid Sh100 for the pregnancy test. 



Francis Nyakwara, a trader at the area, noted that the lady has been conning Otieno money since they started dating. 

“Otieno has been complaining about the lady’s expensive lifestyle. They started dating four months ago. He is fed up with her something that prompted to the beating,” he said.

According to Nyakwara, the lady sustained injuries on her forehead, ears and left hand. 

A local government official, Amos Oduor said unnecessary fight will not be condoned in the area, and urged women to stop faking pregnancy to please men.
