A New Rochelle man already charged in the rape of a teenage girl is facing new charges in the Bronx after allegations that the sexual contact also happened inside the Baptist church where he serves as music director.
On Tuesday, those at the Thessolonia Baptist Church were helping those in need, with pantry workers distributing food to neighborhood residents. But for all the community service, there was little in the way of public relations.
Church officials are being tight lipped about the arrest of 38-year-old Siepo Sampson, who allegedly had ongoing sexual contact with a 16-year-old girl.
According to abc7ny.com, he was originally charged with third-degree rape in December for allegedly having sex with the same teenager at his New Rochelle home, while the NYPD arrest comes after the investigation revealed sexual activity also occurred in the Bronx, dating back to last September.
Thessolonia Baptist and its worship center sit on a block that bears Sampson’s father’s name, after the Reverand Dr. Shellie Sampson served as the church’s pastor for more than 30 years.
His brother is now the pastor, and in addition to his duties as musical director, Siepo Sampson was a private piano instructor. An online ad claims he has successfully taught for more than 20 years, with a fun and inventive way of engaging kids, the report also said.
Sampson is charged with third-degree rape and endangering the welfare of a child.
