Co-tenants flee slain driver’s house over fear of arrest


Co-tenants of Muyiwa Ijaduola, a commercial driver allegedly pushed to death by a policewoman in the Igando area of Lagos State, have fled the house.

High-tension wire kills school-leaver, injures landlord


Tragedy struck on Fagbeyiro Street in the Alakuko area of Lagos State after a high-tension wire fell on a 14-year-old girl, Deborah Faleke, who was electrocuted.

Our correspondent learnt that Deborah, who had come to stay briefly with her elder sister, Bukola Ogunbajo, on the street, just left secondary school, having finished sitting for 2016/2017 West African Senior School Certificate Examination about three weeks ago.

Artisan nabbed for repainting stolen vehicles


AN artisan, Okwudili Nwodo, is in police net in Enugu for repainting stolen vehicles.

It was learnt that Nwodo worked with a car-snatching syndicate, which usually supplied him with stolen cars to repaint. The vehicles were subsequently sold to unsuspecting members of the public.

LUTH doctor abducted, killed in Ogun hometown


Suspected hoodlums on Sunday abducted and killed a doctor with the Lagos University Teaching Hospital, Idi-Araba, Lagos, Thomas Adekoya-Cole, in the Itele area of Ijebu, Ogun State.

‘Killer husband nearly beat wife to death last year’


The younger sister of late Mrs. Roseline Sougie, who was allegedly killed by her husband of 26 years, says the suspect nearly beat her to death sometime in 2015.

The sister, Mrs. Philomena Shaibu, said that the husband, Jafaru Sougie, in anger used a pillow to stifle the mother of five while she was sleeping.

Bricklayer kills friend for refusing to charge phone


A bricklayer, Demola Wasiu, has been arrested by the Lagos State Police Command for allegedly killing his friend, Lekan Omotosho, 27.

Wasiu, an indigene of Ede, Osun State, stabbed the Ogun State indigene in the armpit after he refused to charge his phone for him.

Grandmother, stepmother arrested for removing toddler’s eye, tongue


A two-year-old boy, Musa Murtala, is currently battling to live at the Murtala Muhammed Specialist Hospital, Kano.

The victim, who had been admitted since Friday, was allegedly tortured by his grandmother, Hafsatu, and stepmother, Zainab, at their home in Gulu town in the Rimin Gado Local Government Area of the state.

Woman, nurse arrested while aborting 12-year-old’s pregnancy


A 12-year-old girl, identified only as Favour, has been rescued by the police in the Mafoluku, Oshodi area of Lagos State, where her aunt and the husband allegedly took her to get rid of a pregnancy.
