The Zone 2 Police Command, Onikan, Lagos State, says no fewer than 120 stolen vehicles were recovered in Lagos and Ogun states between August and September 2016.

The Assistant Inspector-General of Police, Zone 2 Command, Abdulmajid Ali, who confirmed the recovery, added that victims of car snatching or armed robbery should check the vehicles recovered at police formations in Lagos and Ogun states.

At a press briefing on Thursday, Ali said some of the vehicles were recovered by the zonal Anti-Crime patrol, Anti-Kidnapping and Surveillance units.

He said, “Within a period of six weeks, more than 120 vehicles have been recovered by the Lagos and Ogun states police commands and other zonal formations. Also, more than 1,000 vehicles have so far been recovered and kept them at various formations within the zone.

“The formations include the state criminal investigation and intelligence departments, anti-robbery squads, special anti-robbery squads and the Zonal Intervention Squad. Members of the public should approach any police formation on enquiries bordering on these cars.

“We also urge them to report any unpleasant conduct of policemen to the AIG office through the Zonal Monitoring Unit on 08038255873.”
