Barely four weeks after two Police officers and an expatriate were killed in a kidnap attempt in Ajaokuta, Kogi state, two police officers have been killed, while an expatriate was kidnapped by unknown gunmen at Obajana.

The incident occurred at about 5.00 pm on Monday at Obajana, host community of Dangote Cement in Lokoja Local Goverment area of Kogi State.

An eye witness told DAILY POST that following resistance from the policemen, the hoodlums opened fire on them.

Police Public Relation Officer, Mr William Aya who confirmed the incident, said gunmen numbering about 15 engaged police guard on duty at a construction site along the Obajana-Oshokoshoko road in a gun battle.

He confirmed that two of them died in the process while the expatriate was taken away.

Aya identified the two officers as Inspector Ezekiel Negedu and Sgt. Gini John.

He explained the Commissioner of Police immediately directed the Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) in charge of operations alongside other operatives to move to the bushes to free the abducted expatriate.
