A son teamed up with mother and gave his dad a dog’s beating after they realised that he had ‘mpango wa kando’ at his workplace.
Charles Momanyi who is working at Kisumu town came home after a period of three months and when his wife scrutinised his phone messages she realised he lives with a concubine in Kisumu.
The angered wife jumped on the man as his son joined.
This happened at Nyakongo Nyamache in Kisii County on Thursday evening. The man was salvaged from the beating by the villagers but by then his eyes were swollen with blood oozing from the mouth.
“We heard a man crying and realised something was wrong at Charles’ household. Many people came by only to find his son and wife beating the man.” Andrew Ouko a neighbor said.
“We intervened and asked them to stop and solve the differences in a procedural way instead of bruising him,” he added.
Mr Momamyi reported the matter to the nearby police station. Area chief Moses Obaigwa condemned the act saying it was illegal and against the norms to raise a hand over the head of the family.
“It is an abomination and actually a curse according to our tribal beliefs, for a son to beat up his father," he said.
