A 16 year-old student, name withheld was on Monday arraigned before a Lagos Chief Magistrate Court in Ikeja over allegations of defiling two minors.
The teenager who resides at Oke-Ira, Ogba area of the state was arraigned on a four count charge bordering on defilement and assault.
According to the prosecuting officer, Sgt. Jimah Iseghede, the accused committed the offences on November 12 at his residence.
Iseghede said, “The accused resides in the same house with the parents of the victims and so it was easy for him to defile the girls, aged two and six. It was the cry of the two-year-old girl that attracted her mother and the accused was apprehended.”
The suspect, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges even after being caught right in the act.
Following his not guilty plea, the Chief Magistrate, Tajudeen Elias, granted the 16 year-old bail in the sum of N1m with two sureties in like sum, adding that the accused should deposit N250, 000 into the court registrar’s account as part of the condition to his bail.
Elias consequently adjourned the case till January 6.
