Three staff members of an online retail outlet, Konga, on Friday, appeared before a Yaba Chief Magistrates' Court in Lagos State for allegedly stealing 500 units of Infinix Hot2 mobile phone valued at N9.6 million.
The men, Ibrahim Maradesa 31; Oluwatoyin Salau, 41 and Jerry Idenudia, 27; who all reside at Ogba area of Lagos, are standing trial on a two-count charge of conspiracy and stealing.
The prosecutor, Inspector Roman Unuigbe, told the court that the accused committed the offence on November 4 at about 6:00 p.m. at No. 36, Cocoa Road, Ogba, Lagos.
Unuigbe alleged that the accused stole 500 units of Infinix Hot2 valued at N9.6 million, property of Konga online retailer.
According to him, the accused, who are drivers with the company, diverted a truck loaded with the items to an undisclosed destination.
The prosecutor said the offences contravened sections 409 and 285 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.
The accused pleaded not guilty to the charge.
Ruling on the bail application, the Magistrate, Mr P.A. Ojo, admitted the accused to bail of N500,000 each with two sureties in like sum.
He said the sureties must reside in Lagos and must be gainfully employed.
The magistrate adjourned the case till February 17 for substantive trial.
