Tragedy struck at the Ibafo area of Ogun State on Friday, as two women were hit by a commercial bus as they crossed the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.
The identities of the women, who were said to be sisters, had not been determined as of the time of filing this report.
It was learnt that the incident happened around 3.30pm while they were trying to cross the road.
It was learnt that they had just alighted from a bus when they were hit.
“The women are from the same parents. Their corpses were later removed by their families who were called to the scene,” an eyewitness, Moji Bakare, said.
She added that the parents of the deceased came to the scene sobbing while the bodies were being taken away.
The Ibafo Police Division has taken the driver of the commercial bus into custody.
