NDLEA discovers cocaine hidden in shoes


The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency has arrested three suspects after discovering some cocaine inside shoe soles at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos.

The consignment of shoes in which the drugs were found originated from Sao Paulo, Brazil.

The owner of the luggage was arrested alongside two other suspects said to have excreted ingested drugs.

According to the NDLEA spokesperson, Mr. Mitchell Ofoyeju, 3.950kg of cocaine was recovered from the suspects.

The NDLEA commander at the Lagos Airport, Ahmadu Garba, said 32-year-old Mbatugosi Ifechukwu, concealed 1.950kg of cocaine hidden inside shoe soles, while 34-year-old Adugba Godson, ingested 1.50kg of cocaine on his way to Sydney, Australia.

Forty-two-year -old Onuoha Dominic also ingested 850g of cocaine from Brazil. The cases are under investigation and will be charged to court soon.”
