Man burgles Deeper Life Church, steals TVs, musical instruments

A 45-year-old man, Chinedu Onyema, has been arrested for allegedly invading a branch of Deeper Life Bible Church at Ejigbo area of Lagos State where he carted away electrical and electronic equipment.

The suspect was reportedly leaving with the stolen items when policemen from Ejigbo Division apprehended him.

According to information reaching Metro, a church member who arrived at the premises early in the morning discovered the burglary and reported to the police.

It was further gathered that the quick intervention of the police who combed the area and arrested the suspect prevented him from carting away the stolen items.

The state police image- maker, Dolapo Badmos, confirmed the arrest of the suspect to Metro, disclosing that the same suspect also burgled a woman’s apartment where electrical equipment and other gadgets were stolen.

According to Badmos, “at about 0935 hours (9:30a.m.), one Goodluck Omojoye of 20, Morning Star Street, Ejigbo, a member of Deeper Life Bible Church, Ejigbo, came to the station to report that his church was broken into by unknown persons who carted away four LG 42-inch plasma TVs, a 14-inch plasma Bluegate TV, a mixer and a DVD player, with values yet unknown.

“Simultaneously on the same date, one Omowunmi Osayomi also reported that her house was burgled at about 0235 hours (2:35a.m.) by three men who carted away one HP laptop, two Samsung S4 phones,one INTC phone, an i-Phone, a 14-inch Samsung TV and other valuables.”

The police spokesperson stated further that “based on strength of report, the surveillance team was deployed to comb the area. Consequently, one Chinedu Onyema was arrested while in transit with the loot.”
