The CT images show that her skull was broken and fractured in several places and her upper and lower jaw was severely damaged, with several fragments of bone floating around.
She also suffered a severe eye injury, as her left eye was found by surgeons near her nasal cavity, reports say.
Authorities say her injuries were severe because she was not wearing her seat belt.
The American patient – who suffered a traumatic brain injury – needed several hours of surgery to reconstruct her injuries.
An ophthalmology surgeon posted the pictures onto medical website, which allows professionals to post anonymous patient cases.
The surgeon said: “A trauma work-up revealed a traumatic brain injury with intracranial haemorrhage, a traumatic eye injury requiring enucleation, and extensive facial fractures.
“This CT shows her completed facial reconstruction. Thanks to a dedicated multidisciplinary team, the patient is now ambulatory and recovering well.”
After several hours of surgery, surgeons were able to reconstruct the woman’s face.
