The Ogun State Police Command said on Friday that it has arrested one Olatunde Akapo who allegedly used a dangerous charm to hit his neighbour, Augustine Ode, killing him in the process.
According to the command, the 32-year-old suspect was arrested after the brother of the deceased lodged a complaint at Ibogun Divisional Headquarters.
The brother had claimed that his 42-year-old brother had been hit with a charm by someone whom he had a quarrel with, leading to his death.
The state Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Abimbola Oyeyemi, said the report “prompted the Divisional Police Officer, Ibogun Division, Nicholas Tamuno-Inam to lead detectives to the scene at Alapako Eke, arresting the suspect immediately.”
Oyeyemi added that “Ode’s body had been deposited at Ifo General Hospital mortuary for autopsy.”
According to him, the state Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Iliyasu, had also directed that the case be transferred to the homicide section of the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department for further investigation and prosecution of the suspect.
