An angry father gave his daughter a beating for allegedly wearing a miniskirt on Friday at Nyanchwa village in Kisii County.
Dismas Okwoyo said he has been warning his daughter, Rose Moraa, against wearing short clothes and miniskirts but in vain.
“I am tired of seeing my daughter walking half naked. She is not maize sold at the market. I will not allow her to wear miniskirts and any other cloth which will spoil my good name in the village,” he said.
A local, Edwin Simba, said Moraa has been walking half-naked since she joined Kisii University early this year.
“We support Okwoyo’s decision to beat his daughter over indecent dressing. She has been wearing tight clothes exposing her flesh to men without knowing who is her father or mother. Young ladies should dress well,” Simba said.
Area assistant chief, Ronald Okeyo, said young ladies wear tight clothes and miniskirts to attract men especially sponsors.
The chief said Nyumba Kumi officials should be on high alert and ensure ladies wearing bad clothes exposing their flesh are kicked out of the area.
