It has emerged that women in Swaziland are increasingly using a special herb which allegedly suppresses the sexual appetites of their husbands and boyfriends, especially at the weekends.
According to Times of Swaziland, women allegedly use the herb every Friday when making breakfast for their partners, especially if they have a spouse, whom they suspect is having extramarital affairs at the weekends.
The herb is sold in shops in Mbabane, the country’s capital.
It is usually made for men to drink like tea.
One of the shop owners, who sell the herb stated that originally, the herb was meant to normalise the sexual urge of men with very high sex drives.
According to the shop owner, interested men are expected to take the herb once a week in boiling water because when it was taken otherwise, it has side effects, one of which is infertility.
“I have been wondering why the herb is being bought on a daily basis of late and it is bought by women. I do not know who spread the rumour and gave these women the idea but I cannot turn them back when they come into the shop to buy it because nobody can turn away money,” the shop owner said.
Some women said after they discovered the herb, it gave them peace of mind when their men are away from home. One of the women, who uses the herb admitted that she kept the herb with her spices in the kitchen so that her husband would not suspect anything when she uses it in making him food.
These women have a group on social media of close to 50 members and more than half of them were married, while the others live with their boyfriends. The women said they are tired of their partners being unfaithful when they were out drinking with their friends on weekends, reports Times of Swaziland.
Another stated that she knew for a fact that when her boyfriend was away from home the whole weekend, he was with another woman.
