One of the bodies was identified as Kemi, who was said to be a resident of Ikorodu.
It was gathered that two persons have been arrested in connection with the case.
Narrating the incident, a resident, Mrs Bose Bello, said as people gathered to see the bodies, they started pointing fingers to a resident, who returned from a club that morning.
Mrs Bello said it was through a man who disguised as a mad man that they caught the suspect.
She said: “We noticed a man was acting funny on the street. As one of the officials of Onyabo Vigilante Group held him, he confessed and said he wasn’t the only one in the business and that was what led to Chibueze Samson’s arrest.
“Samson just moved to this area and nobody knows what he does for a living but he spends a lot. Some bar in this area can testify to his movement. Different girls visit him and they leave shouting at each other. He doesn’t even look responsible and also we saw fresh scars on his arm this morning (yesterday) but he is yet to talk.”
It was gathered that six female bodies were also found two weeks ago in the same area.
A resident, Dayo Sofunmi, said five of the bodies were bloated; one was still fresh.
“When we woke up that morning, everywhere was smelling. We didn’t know where it came from. Sadly, we saw the bodies on the empty plot of land beside my house. Between last month and today, we have seen 13 female bodies in this area. It is really unfortunate.”
A trader, Kafayat Adekanmbi, said she did not know if it was those who dumped the bodies that shaved the girls’ pubic hair adding: “When we got there this morning, we saw condom, cigarette and make up in their bags. We are not secured here. If we plead with the government to deploy police officers to our streets, they may arrest wrong people and we don’t want that. If they don’t see young girls to use anymore, our children may be next. We don’t know what they do with them. If I am not mistaken, we have seen 13 girls in this place. It is scary and unfair.”
The bodies have been taken to Igbogbo General Hospital mortuary.
