Father, son remanded for burglary




An Ado Ekiti Magistrate’s court on Friday remanded a man, Taiwo Adebiyi, 61, and his son, Tope, 20 in prison custody for alleged burglary.

The Police prosecutor, Sgt.Oriyomi Akinwale, told the court that the accused committed the alleged offence on June 12 at about 10:30 pm at Aisegba Ekiti in Gbonyin Local Government Area of the state.

He alleged that the accused on the said date unlawfully broke into the house of one Bolajoko Daramola and stole money and other valuable property.

According to him, the accused committed an offence punishable under Section 4(1)(2) of the Criminal Code,Cap C 16,Laws of Ekiti State.

He said he had forwarded their case file to the office of the Director of Public Prosecution for legal advice.

The pleas of the accused were not taken as their counsel, Mr. Gbenga Bejide, requested an adjournment pending the DPP’s advice.

Magistrate Taiwo Ajibade consequently ordered that the accused be remanded in prison custody.

She adjourned the case till July 4 for mention.
