An angry son caned his mother thoroughly after he busted her in the act with another man in a bush on Wednesday in Iranda village, Kisii County.
Isaiah Borura said his mother, Philomena Moraa, has been sleeping with men in unexpected places since his father died 2 years ago.
"My mother lacks respect since she has been sleeping with men carelessly in village bushes. I laid a trap on her on Wednesday and followed her to a small bush few meters from home where I found her laid in a bush,” he said.
Borura said he picked a cane which he used to beat her after the man fled for safety abandoning her.
Andrew Marube, area local chief confirmed the incident and said Moraa has been warned several times against sleeping with men in bushes but she has refused to listen.
“Moraa has turned to be a prostitute after her husband died 2 years ago. She has been in and out of my office over illicit sex with men but it seems all our advice fell in deaf ears,” he noted.
He said she sustained injuries on her head, hands and legs following the thorough beating she received from her son and she was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
He warned widowed women to respect themselves and stop sleeping with men carelessly in bushes.
