Forty-nine-year-old Garba Ibrahim, a shoe seller-turned car dealer, found a niche in the robbery world. He simply specialised in robbing taxi drivers.

In fact, Ibrahim, a native of Otukpo, Benue State, believed his robbery method was so fool-proof that he did not think he could ever fail.

The Nigeria Customs Service Federal Operations Unit, Zone ‘C’, Owerri, has said that the unit intercepted and arrested a trailer numbered GBB 85 XA suspected to be carrying adulterated diesel along Aba-Owerri expressway.

Again, cattle rustlers attack Niger village, steal 700 cows

 
 
For the fourth time in one month, cattle rustlers have invaded Gbaka village in the Shiroro Local Government Area of Niger State.

It was learnt that no fewer than 700 cows and unspecified number of goats and sheep were stolen.

A maid, Cynthia Shamang, has been arrested in Kaduna for absconding with Amarachi, the one-year-old baby of her employer, Mrs. Kachi Mbagwu.

The 17-year old was arrested alongside her father in Kaduna and handed over to the police in Abuja.

An Osun State High Court sitting in Ile Ife has sentenced a couple – Fatai Jimoh and Lateefat Jimoh – to death by hanging for armed robbery and the murder of one Mrs. Bukola Taiwo of Ikeketu, Ile Ife.

Taiwo was said to have gone on a business trip to Ile Ife on August 12, 2009, and slept over at the Jimohs’ apartment.

A thug had punched a man who was hooked up to his dialysis machine to death for thinking he was a paedophile.

Metro UK reported that Paul Sandford died after Adam Goodridge entered his home in Maltby, South Yorkshire, in October, while he was asleep and threatened him to move away.

Woman arraigned for using children as beggars

 

 For allegedly using her children as beggars, Ayo Okegbero, 36, on Wednesday appeared before an Ikeja Chief Magistrate’s Court.

The News Agency of Nigeria reports that Okegbero, an unemployed woman, who resides in Ojota, Lagos, is being tried for breach of the peace.

Justice Abubakar Talba of a Federal Capital Territory High Court, Gudu, on Thursday admitted Sani Magaji and Mohammed Aliyu, charged with possession of firearms and robbery, to N1m bail each.

Ruling on their bail application, Talba ordered that the defendants must produce two sureties each in like sum.
