Witnesses said the trouble started when Margaret Onchoke stormed Edina Moraa’s house and asked her to stop dating Pastor Lawrence Okenye, who is serving at a local church in the area.
“Ms Onchoke stormed Moraa’s house and asked her to stop dating the pastor. Moraa got angry and descended on her with kicks and blows,” said Benjamin Onyonka.
Onyonka said the two were stopped from fighting by Nyumba Kumi officials who were searching for the illicit brew in the area.
Area assistant chief Philip Obwocha said the two women fought over the pastor who had been dating both of them.
“It was a shameful incident for the women to fight over the man of God. We treat such as prostitution and it is time that the men of God should consider leading by example,” he said.
He commended Nyumba Kumi officials led by Jones Makori for intervening to stop the two from fighting.
The local administrator said the two women will be reporting to his office on a daily basis for the next one month until they reform.
He said the pastor has already been ordered to leave the village.
